About

My name is Maria Wagner. After graduating from high school, I studied chemistry at the University of Duisburg-Essen with a B./M. Sc. and pursued my scientific career with great ambition. In spring 2016 I paused my studies only shortly before the master thesis for health reasons. During my convalescence I rediscovered my passion for painting. And so I decided to turn my hobby into my profession.

Since my childhood I have been carrying materials for painting with me every day to be able to live out my creativity. In my school days, however, art lessons were rather annoying to me because of too rigid guidelines. Nevertheless I chose the advanced art course in the upper school. Art history, architecture, photography... somehow not half as exciting as creating something with a pen, a brush or even a spatula.

Even after I finished school, I always painted, scribbled or sketched something - something "created". Painting balances me out, takes away all stress and motivates me to do so many things: to face my fears, to smile more often or to stop putting things off any longer. With painting I am a different person!

My paintings show emotions, order and chaos, tension and calm. I start to paint - of course, you have to think about the painting a few times before, but what comes out in the end is almost always something completely different. I create every painting with passion and heart and soul.

I would be happy if one day a piece of my heart's blood also hangs in your living room.

After my husband, our dog Mio and I moved from Essen to Rodgau in February 2020, we wanted to create a small empire where I could be creative at any time. While looking for an apartment, we were already looking for a slightly larger one and quickly found one. Due to the health situation in the first half of 2020, the construction of my study turned out to be quite difficult.

But in July 2020 we were able to procure all the materials and build a huge work table that offers storage space and where I don't have to worry about paint splashes or something like that.

Everything is clearly arranged, I have space for my paints and tools and can store my canvases and finished work under the table.

My artistic freedom starts here!
